About
I am a queer feminist mixed-media artist living in Brooklyn, NY, painting what words can’t communicate. After undergoing brain surgery in 2014, paint became my primary form of communication. The action of creating was symbolic and necessary. I’ve been telling my story through bold line, unexpected color, and interesting space ever since.
Each painting starts with a feeling and ends with a story. I follow a feeling and the story comes through the paintbrush. I feel most present and honest when I paint. It’s a time I truly embrace all the uneasieness of life and converse through paint. Painting is often a projection of my inner thoughts, struggles, feelings, and is a push-pull between me and the canvas. My color palette, my marks are all an expression of emotion and voice searching for balance and calm.
